The Story Of The Seed

Hi my name is Anthony Santamaria. I have lived in San Jose, California since I was born in 2000. I've never actually grown anything, but I've always watched my aunt grow plant after pant since I was little.

Since I was little I would always go to my aunts and would always find her outside in here backyard watering, fertilizing, planting new plants, etc.. She would always make trips to Home Depot to buy more plants and fertilizer and would always spend over $100. I asked her why she loved plants so much, and she said they were here friends. Her whole backyard is filled with plants from left to right. One memory I have is when I was little is being in the backyard with my aunt and she was near her sugar plant, and she cut a piece of and told me to try it. I was a little scared trying out because I had never tried anything straight out from the garden, and I remember taking the first bite and tasting nothing but juicy sweet sugar. When this project is over I hope to plant something and track its growth.

The Story Of The Seed

My name is Brian Trang, I have been in San Jose, California since Dec. 18 2000(birth date). Personally I'm not the "planting" type of a person, but I do like being outside.  I have always witnessed my grandpa plant seeds and other stuff but I've never really tried that.

When I was little, about the age of 7 I was assigned a watermelon seed. My job was to plant it and nurture it, clearly that did not workout for me, because that seed did not even sprout. It stayed in seed form for like 2 months, I couldn't figure out why it didn't grow. Finally I asked my grandma for help, it turned out you would have to water it daily and during certain times. So I asked my teacher for a more simple seed like a sunflower seed, and so this time when I took care of it I had it sprout but then after a while i found out that you can't over water it. So this seed ended up dying as well. From there I had no hopes of being a farmer or anything related to that. This year I'm hoping to change that and have a little bit of hope in my planting skills. I hope to see all the seeds I plant become full grown plants, and I want to track its growth.

Hi my name is Ainsley Darragh. I'm from San Jose,California and was born in 2001. One of my favorite hobbies is to cook so I am very excited for this class!

In my backyard at home we have a garden, and my brother and I love to plant seeds and watch what beautiful fruits, vegetables, and plants they turn into. The last thing i have planted was a sunflower seed and it is actually growing pretty quickly. This past year I have planted cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons, pumpkins, and etc... Besides gardening I love to cook any kind of food. To learn I would watch my family members cook a whole bunch of different foods from Italian to Greek food. Fruits and vegetables are super fun to work with in the kitchen. This year I hope to learn more about gardening/plants and just how they develop into delicious food. I'm very excited for this year to start!!!!
My name is Janet arias and I have been living in San Jose, California my whole life .

I have only planted flowers before and they have grown in my backyard. I also have planted squash before. Plants take a lot of work and I haven't grown anything since then. The only person I know that has planted and showed me the process was my neighbors. My neighbors have grown lots of vegetables, and flowers. My goal for this project is to find out more about growing plants.
